History Bites - Who Was Uncle Sam?

We want YOU to come to History Bites on July 8th! In this presentation, Kim Jardine-Dickerson will tell the story of Samuel Wilson (1766-1854), the man said to have inspired the figure of Uncle Sam. Wilson was born in Massachusetts and moved to Troy, New York as a young adult after having given his service to General Washington’s Continental Army. More than just an industrialist, he never knew how famous he would become during the American Revolutionary War, with a legacy lasting to the present day. Legend, hero, and family man, Wilson was an unforgettable part of American history.
